AWES has a state-of-the-art treatment facility for processing most non-hazardous oils and metals bearing waste waters. Along with treating oil-contaminated wastewater, AWES is the only CWT-EPA facility in Colorado with the technology and the EPA permit allowing AWES to treat metals-bearing wastewater. Our 7,000 square foot treatment facility is second to none in the state of Colorado.
Removing heavy metals such as Arsenic, Chromium, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury, Copper and a list of other contaminants is essential prior to discharging the treated wastewater to the publicly owned treatment works. With our state-of-the-art treatment technology, we meet or exceed the EPA’s Centralized Waste Treatment Regulations. Our treated wastewater is sent to the Metro Wastewater District for final treatment before being discharged back to the South Platte River. AWES is proud of the fact that we "recycle" almost three million gallons of water per year that ends up replenishing the South Platte River.
AWES not only removes contaminants but completely separates the solids from the liquid phase of the wastewater. This allows AWES to minimize our clients’ disposal liabilities because it reduces the clients’ final waste volume; the volume of the water phase is “eliminated”. Solids are dewatered by our large filter pressshown in the picture above, and then taken to a permitted Subtitle D landfill for disposal using EPA’s required manifests. All of our wastewater discharge quality is laboratory-tested frequently by the MetroWastewater District and AWES checks the quality of our discharged wastewater by taking samples to a third party laboratory.
If your facility generates wastewater with metal contaminants, and you do not want to have to deal with treating it, or deal with a discharge permit with your Sanitary / Wastewater District, it may be more feasible and cost-effective to have AWES do it ALL for you. Dedicating your time and resources into your core business, you could be more profitable with less headaches.
AWES can look at your wastestream contaminates and the logistics of being able to pump the waste into our trucks for transport to our treatment facility to see if we can be a cost-effective approach to handling the waste treatment needs of your company.
AWES looks forward to working with you, so give us a call to see what we can do for you.
